In a word, Daniels by the Sea was “Fantastico!”

TripAdvisor and Online Reviews
I love reading reviews of places, products and activities when making purchasing decisions. I think that’s one of the great offerings of the Internet. Like most Americans, I take the opinion of a regular person shared on Amazon as a much more valid testimony than that of the company trying to sell me a product. As one who consumes these reviews on a regular basis, I try to do my part to share as well. My venue of choice is Trip Advisor. You can see all of my reviews at my RockingLoud TripAdvisor page.
I Know My Italian Food
When it comes to Italian food, I consider myself spoiled. Some of the absolute best Italian restaurants in America are in South Philadelphia. Having grown up in South Jersey, only 15 minutes from South Philly, I was raised in an area filled with first and second generation Italian American families who looked to Jersey as a way to get their kids out of the city and into the suburbs. I have had just as good Italian food at my friends’ houses as I have in five star restaurants. And, I’ve worked in four different Italian restaurants plus a pizza shop. So, I’m spoiled. When I heard rave reviews about the great Italian food at on Dawn Beach, at a restaurant next to our hotel (Oyster Bay Beach Resort), I must admit, I was a little skeptical.
Top Quality Italian at Daniel’s by the Sea
A five minute walk later, we were at Daniel’s by the Sea. While the Daniel’s website is still online, I recently tried to publish my TripAdvisor review of this amazing meal, only to find that there is no entry for them in TripAdvisor! I’m not sure if that means they are out of business (I sure hope not!), or if they just aren’t registered on the site. Either way, since I had already written up a brief review (based on he notes I took six months ago!), I thought I’d post it here. Hopefully it gets picked up by Google and brings some much-deserved business to the great little place on the beach!

To start our meal off, my wife loved the garlic bread, which I though was just okay, but it was all uphill from there! We had amazing roasted red peppers drizzled with a perfect balsamic vinaigrette dressing. What a way to get our meal underway! For our entrees, my wife had the snapper fillet creole with linguine and I had the spicy shrimp in a pink sauce over their homemade Fettuccine Alfredo. The description of the snapper, in Andrea’s words… “The fish was light and flaky and fresh. There was a little kick to it but I could still taste the fish and it was delicious. The pasta was cooked just right. A nice little bit of chopped peppers, onion and celery that added a great crunch”. My shrimp entree? Again, absolutely perfect. Or, more appropriately, Fantastico! And yes, we had to have some dessert before heading out for the night. The key lime pie and chocolate lava cake? Just the right finish for a great meal in an unbelievable atmosphere. And thanks to Janet our waitress for taking such good care of us!
If you find yourself on the island of Sint Maarten, work your way over to Oyster Bay and grab some dinner at Daniel’s by the Sea. You’ll be glad you did!
